PHILIP ROTH UNBOUND: ILLUMINATING A LITERARY LEGACY:

3/17-19/2023 A weekend-long festival hosted by the NJ Performing Arts Center that celebrated, challenged and explored the life, legacy and work of novelist and Newark-native Philip Roth. Featured star-studded readings, conversations, comedy, controversy and debate with over forty of the most prominent writers, actors, journalists, artists and public intellectuals working today.

WRITING CONTEST:

The Newark Public Library and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center hosted a city-wide writing contest for high school-age youth living in Newark. The two first-place winners read their works during the program, “My Newark,” at the NJ Performing Arts Center on March 17, 2023, as part of the Philip Roth Festival. An anthology of the top 14 pieces has been produced. A limited quantity of hard copies are available in the Philip Roth Personal Library. Also available online.
